Stop & Frisk was the NYPD's enthusiastic approach to the nationwide Terry Stop, where on "reasonable suspicion" of criminal activity, cops can stop someone, question them, and pat them down for weapons. Apparently, some/many cops stretched the definition of reasonable suspicion to cover anyone they felt might be dirty. I suspect Trump is influenced by Giuliani, who credits S&F with the crime drop in NYC.DrDonkeyLove wrote: I confess that his enthusiasm for stop & frisk makes me uncomfortable. I don't know exactly how the NYPD determined why someone should be stopped and frisked but there needs to be a real reason for it beyond just being a punk on the street. I love his commitment to the 2nd amendment but would like to see a little love for the 4th as well.
Many question the effectiveness of Stop & Frisk, including conservative (and black) attorney & commentator Larry Elder, who points to other cities that enjoyed a drop in their crime rate without S&F.
Me, I'd like to see the despicable DUI checkpoints go away. Although they aren't allowed in my state.

No doubt, Trump is an enormously flawed candidate. I would have taken any of the other Republican candidates over Trump; even Bush. And Jim Webb, on the Dem side.
