The choice was binary: Trump or Clinton. Clinton disqualified herself with her recklessness with the nation's secrets and her Middle East Shit Show. And, on the economy, she went Full Retard/Bernie.
I briefly considered voting for Hillary. After that I considered not voting at all.

But I warmed to Trump enough to vote for him based on:

1) His meeting with Mexico's Nieto. I realized Trump could adult when necessary, and not start WWIII*. (It also made me realize his campaign persona was a strategy/tactic, not the "real" Trump. See the Scott Adams blog for more on that.)
2) His list of candidates for the Supreme Court.
3) In the Presidential Debates, when asked what each would do to improve the economy, Hillary said she'd tax the super-wealthy; Trump said he'd grow the economy. Those answers further disqualified Clinton, and confirmed Trump.
4) Trump, unlike Romney, W, and GWBush, did not cower before the largely left/"liberal" media. And he was not ashamed of America and America's greatness. This is why he gained wide popular success, IMO.

So that's why I voted for Trump. The thing I truly love about Trump is that he takes it to the media. And I love that he comes from a World of Getting Shit Done, as opposed to Talking Purty (Obama, Kerry, etc.). Many of his cabinet picks reflect that: Mattis & Tillerson, for starters.

As to loving Trump the President, he's on probation with me. I'm sure that keeps him up at night.

I've said before and I'll say it again, I could have voted for Trump if he wasn't Trump. Definitely would have against HRC. Some things for example I liked...
- At least originally, he proposed a 3rd way. Most Americans aren't hard red or hard blue, and he reflected that. Dinging the invasion of Iraq was a great starting point (no matter whether he was for it earlier). Change the game.
- He blew up the game that gets played, where if you say something deemed unacceptable by the media, you have to apologize. The media owns the agenda. He said screw that mess. Change the game.
- I like Mattis a lot. Tillerson might be OK.

Along with all of the other stuff that reflects poorly on Trump as a human being, but probably may not bubble up into the policy sphere so maybe it does not matter, here is what I genuinely worry about. I worry about his mental stability and control. He reacts, and he can't help reacting. He can be provoked and baited. Stroked and fluffed. You know he will respond. That means he can be manipulated. You can be an overweight former beauty contestant and draw his attention. That is not a characteristic you want in your leader.

I'm just some schmuck who posts on the internet, and it is obvious to me. Think the chinks, jihadis, and other commies aren't aware? They've got rooms full of scientists figuring him out.

I was going to compare the Patriots to Trump, but the Patriots are a machine. You would be shocked if they screwed it up since they have few flaws. I will compare Trump to the Cowboys. They can crush you as long as they stay on offense. But they have flaws and do not play great defense. It will come down to game plan and execution, avoiding miscues, and staying on offense.

And then the question becomes what of the Democrat bench? Bernie? Fauxachontas? Correy Booker? Age and/or lack of talent is a problem for them all.

We don't have this situation if Hilliary does 3 things:
1. 'Shit happens in War zones". Our bad in Benghazi.
2. Uses a .gov email account.
3. Runs a professional, disciplined, and hungry campaign.

Hopefully this outlook of yours stops at politics. Kasich has had a hugely successful political career. Choosing to stick to principle rather than chucking them in hope of amassing more power does not make him a dumbass.

One of the big obstacles Trump will face is the DC Circuit Court, which tends to handle cases involving regulation and government agencies. 7 of the 11 judges were appointed by Democrats. They're federal judges (translation-- they're unfireable). The Chief Justice is Merrick Garland who (just a guess here) is probably not very happy with Republicans.
