Re: Podcast recommendations. Again
Comedy Bang Bang for comedians and actors doing long form improv (comedians come on and are interviewed as themselves and sometimes play a character, which is when the improv kicks in. Andy Daly kills when ever he's on. Jessica St Clair is great. Paul F Tompkins is prolific and usually reliable. It gets better as you listen to it, because there are recurring characters with inside jokes and callbacks. I pick and choose episodes based on which ones have the comedians I like.
Here's a taste. It's Andy Daly playing a vampire-fighting cowboy poet.

Oxford Biography is interesting, depending on the subject, definitely recommended for history buffs and Anglophiles.
The Economist has good short podcasts (a little too short IMHO).
Welcome to Night Vale-- if you get into it it's addictive.

He's probably an acquired taste, but I like the Jocko podcast a lot.
The Moment with Brian Koppelman.
If you grew up listening to Paul Harvey's The Rest of the Story, the Mike Rowe podcasts are quite similar.
@GSElevator: Can we please stop calling them hipsters and go back to calling them pussies?

Sword and Scale - true crime - fucking tough to learn about real monsters
Lore - true life scary stories - myths legends and some of the real stories behind them
Last Podcast on the Left - true crime, aliens, ghosts, crazy shit in general. Hilarious but not for everyone.
Wrestler Review - couple of comedians discussing a specific wrestler each episode
Oldies but still goodies
The Art of Wrestling
The Dana Gould Hour
Rogan every now and then but few and far between same with Jocko and Rich Roll.
Dropped like a hot turd
The Fighter and the Kid - fuck me I couldn't take Callen any longer. Also dropped Power Athlete Radio and Inside BJJ.

Zero Blog 30- politics and whatever else-- understanding a military sense of humor is probably a prereq. Flows like a group of smart cool guys bullshitting.
US GAO Watchdog Report-- considering that it's an official government podcast, this is incredible. They're short too.
Sasquatch Syndicate-- interviews with people who've seen a sasquatch and other similar stuff. It's like long form Art Bell.
Oldies but goodies

Just added 50 Things That Made the Modern Economy. They're short (9minutes), and cover a variety of things, like the iPhone, shipping container, bank, and Billy bookcase.
Outside Online just did a three part series called Cliffhanger about the Eastern Airlines 980 crash in Bolivia in 1985. And I found out about that from The Grey Nato, two watch guys talking about watches, diving, cars, and outdoor stuff.
