Benny, I agree with you. Trump builds monuments. The wall will be another one.

On the monitoring thing, we had a contract with Boeing that wasted a few billion to do just that, put up systems on the border. Ended up being a huge waste of money.

I have friends that operate the drones along the border, for CBP. Fun work.

One of Trump's biggest issues with building the wall will be getting financing, something he's done very well in his career. Convincing members of Congress (who are primarily looking at the impact of the wall and his immigration policy on their districts) to approve funding, or a method of funding (like a tariff), will be a tough task.

Honestly, if Obama had said we need a wall/fence/etc, every one of you would have nodded along.

But, he didn't faithfully execute the laws of the United States and now Trump looks like the bad guy because he is.

Obama and Bush both spent a ton of money on border security, to include fences and sensor systems

We'll never know if it gets blocked in committee.

Of course we will. Because if they don't say, they are all guilty.

There are no repubs facing re election who will tank it. And there aren't enough bought off retiring guys to do it.

If they manage it, theyw will precipitate a Civil War.

You don't care and encourage the end because cause your mediocre paycheck bought you off, but decent whites see this and know Trump is the last chance at a peaceful resolution.
