Not bad for a little Monday afternoon escapist fare.
Hollywood is working hard to incorporate grappling/jj into the gun-fu and knife-fu mix.

Fun movie. Reeves has a weird quality where doing the action thing at 50 looks normal.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

Re: John Wick
On paper, revenge flicks don't get better. The "hero's" background, the set-up, the toys and abilities he possesses are all there. Fortunately, the actors and the movie making allows the story to deliver these goods. The story itself is 'believable' (as much as these things are believable). Meaning that everything is 'far out' but nothing in the movie suddenly throws you back out of the screen, calling bullshit or thinking "as if". Although there is the Continental thing...
I rate the movie. Loved it. Will watch it again with mates and beer.
Keanu Reeves does a good job.
...And that Mustang.

I saw this in the theaters and was a little disappointed. I don't know why - probably because there was no real character development and I was expecting something Matrix-level good.
I saw it again when it came out as a rental and loved it. I guess I was just having a mood the first time.

I guess he's training with Taran Butler, who seems to be a bit of a starfucker these days but you can't argue with his competitive shooting cred.

One line, spoken in Russian while he's drowning a guy in a sink, encapsulates the whole movie: you stole my car, you killed my dog, fuck you.
