Ok IGx libs, why is Tom Perez so controversial? Endorsed by Biden, spent eight years in teh Obama administration in actual positions of responsibility, and child of immigrants-- what block doesn't he check?

Sanders wing wanted an outsider progressive. Perez is progressive but has been in Washington a long time. The outcome seemed pretty uncontroversial .
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

Yeah, I listened to part of an interview with a prominent Sanders person who badly wants to take an uncompromising approach. Seems like a bad idea when you're the minority party.

It seems like the moderates keep winning on both sides. Clinton beat Sanders, Schumer because Senate Minority Leader, and Perez beat Ellison. On the Republican side, on a state by state basis, Republicans running for Congress tended to win their elections by bigger margins than Trump did. I am deeply disappointed the Left voted in Perez. Ellison would have been the last nail in the Socialist Coffin.
But props where they are due, Perez was a better choice. But he has a big job ahead. My prediction is he doesn't last much longer than midterms.
