One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

Sentinelese are famous for this, they always kill anyone who comes to their island. It's actually a crime in India to try to land there. They have a "hands off" management style.
I can't imagine what kind of fanatical douchebag you would have to be to think you're going to show up with a bible and get anything other than eaten.

"Mr. Chau, believed to be 26 or 27 and from Washington State, may have been trying to convert the islanders to Christianity. Right before he left in his kayak, Mr. Chau gave the fishermen a long note. In it, police officials said, he had written that Jesus had bestowed him with the strength to go to the most forbidden places on Earth."

Here's a more detailed article on the idiot. Sounds like Jesus has some explaining to do.

In fairness, Jesus did let him go there.

Got murdered and eaten in one of the most awful ways imaginable? Is that it?

Yes! He died doing what he loved.
I don't think they ate him, though.
Actually, it is a tragedy. A tragedy that he was brought up to believe that by foisting his religion on them (to "save" them) he was doing everyone a huge favor, even if it meant bringing new diseases they have no immunity against to their shores, and destroying what is left of their culture by replacing it with his. And of course a tragedy that the Sentinelese were put into the position of having to once again stiff-arm the rest of modern culture.
Don’t believe everything you think.

I have it on good authority that the Saudi's tried to get Jamal Khashoggi to go to their "consulate" on the island. Keep this quiet tho cause I don't want to betray my sources.

I wonder how many modern diseases he brought to that island with him that they aren't vaccinated against. Might be that everyone gets to die.

Guy visits inbred recluses by canoe and it turns out badly. Seems like this story isn't new.
