The Brits are already floating the idea that they think China engineered this thing and it got of the reservation. That's only one step from thinking it was intentionally let loose to crash world economies and have China come out the other side the undisputed superpower.

Whether they engineered, I don't know. Chinese aren't the world's most brilliant engineers or inventors. What there is absolutely no question about is that they are exploiting it to advance their politico-military and economic power. They have tanked huge sectors of our economy and now are scooping up huge stock holdings at basement prices.
