Nothing there discusses the supposed necessary disconnect between viral load and initial dose and symptomology. And how viral dose is causative and viral load not.

It's circular. You've assumed viral dose increases symptomology and then found instances of low symptomology and then argued masks caused this therefore initial dose causes symptoms.

Do you have any direct evidence that initial dose effects symptomology in covid?

Because we know viral load doesn't.

How would that even work mechanically?

Super interesting list. Summary: don't hang out in bars, nursing homes and prisons. I live relatively near San Quentin-in the prison system's infinite wisdom they decided to centralize all of the CA prison Covid cases in one location. That did not work out well for them.

Good luck. Good chance he stays symptom free. The PCRs can catch virus from weeks ago as well. And false positives are an issue. Have him retest. And get an antibody test as well.

If not, and he worsens, Demand anaerobic bacterial infection testing. Make sure and mention Lemierre's disease as the analogy. The testing has to be in an anaerobic bottle. It's just a test. They'll run it if you kick up a fuss. Treatment usually full spectrum anti-biotics.

I'm no MD but there seems to be massive anaerobic bacterial infections during the Cytokine Storm. Which occurs after viral load drops.

The odds remain in his favor, just got to stay ahead of any big negative turns.

Guy I work with had it (he is remote...California) and he sad every day was a new symptom. Crushing headache, shortness of breath, gastric joys, ended up with a bleeding sinus. Good times.

Given the incidence of this disease and sensitivity and specificity of the test chances are he does not have the disease.

It is hard to get across, even to doctors, that test results cannot be viewed without taking into account pre-test probability.
