Pardonpalooza
Not much to be done about this but the corruption is pretty unbelievable.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

Like it is at the end of every president's time in office.

Charles Kushner was pardoned for this...so much character.

Very Putin-ish of him.Kushner was giving illegal campaign contributions to Democrats.
William Schulder, the husband of Charles’ sister Esther, came to the office of US Attorney Chris Christie with info about this. In the midst of that investigation in which Schulder and his wife Esther were cooperating, Charles Kushner hired a prostitute to seduce his brother-in-law. He filmed it, and had the tape mailed to his sister on the day of her son’s engagement party.

When do you think he pardons Ghislaine Maxwell?

On Manafort and others...
Good timing on Barr deciding to spend more time with his family.“Do you believe a president can lawfully issue a pardon in exchange for the recipient’s promise to not incriminate him?” Sen. Patrick J. Leahy of Vermont asked during Barr’s January 2019 confirmation hearing.
“No, that would be a crime,” Barr said in response.

She's too dangerous to let out in the wild. She almost certainly has dirt on a large number of very high rollers. She'll have some complications from COVID soon and even the best medical care won't be able to save her.

So who does everybody want to see pardoned? I'd start with Pete Rose.

Trump can cite the 'Clinton precedent".Grandpa's Spells wrote: ↑Thu Dec 24, 2020 5:03 am Not much to be done about this but the corruption is pretty unbelievable.
"President Clinton's pardon of Marc Rich is a saga of secrecy, tenacity, sleight of hand and pressure from Rich's ex-wife and one of her friends, who together have steered millions of dollars to Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton's causes and those of fellow Democrats."

"Former President Bill Clinton's brother-in-law received hundreds of thousands of dollars in fees for helping one client secure a presidential pardon and another get his prison sentence commuted during Clinton's final hours in office, it was revealed Wednesday.
In an extraordinary statement released by Clinton, the former president noted that he and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton were "deeply disturbed" and insisted that Florida lawyer Hugh Rodham, Sen. Clinton's brother, return money he got for helping Almon Glenn Braswell and Carlos Vignali."

He can only pardon federal charges.

Would an interstate charge be a federal one? Could get some of the people.

Re: Pardonpalooza
Oh there are certainly plenty of people in the federal pen for drug charges. It wouldn't bother me if they are pardoned, provided there wasn't some aggravating circumstance like violence. The drug war is a travesty and YOUR PRESIDENT was one of its principal architects.

Assange, Snowden, every non violent drug offender in a federal prison.

Good ones, Baffy. If I was Trump I would make it rain pardons.

Re: Pardonpalooza
There's still time. I doubt Trump will pardon either Assange or Snowden since there's no obvious benefit to Trump himself, but we can dream.

Re: Pardonpalooza
Oh I could easily see Trump using that to build a coalition in support of a run in 2024. The man loves chaos and this would endear a great many. I'm personally ambivalent about Assange, but I think Snowden is an American hero.

Re: Pardonpalooza
Trump isn't running in 2024. He may be barred from running if impeachment round 2 actually goes off and he gets convicted. Either way, I think he'll be happy to agitate from the sidelines on whatever media outlet he's able to get on 4 years from now.
