Series of short stories from a former jarhead who got in MFA in literature from somewhere. I gave it to my father for father's day, and when he finished it he asked me if I had read it, and said the author was pretty harsh on the Corps.
So I read it, and thought it was the best thing written about Iraq and Afghanistan, and a love letter to the Corps at heart. Alternates between sad and hilarious, as the stories range from down range to guys post-deployment and post-military. All stories really good, some are great. Best catches the vibe of coming home post-combat. Definitely gets two hearty thumbs up!
