Call of Duty Ghosts Mega-Ban on PS3/4
Any of you fuckers play COD: Ghosts? Did you get hit with the massive ban? I did and now my system is perma-banned. Activision is saying they won't reverse it. No history of ever hacking or cheating since I don't play nearly often enough to know that much about the game. If it doesn't resolve I'm probably not gonna buy anymore Activision titles. Fuck them.

Can anyone recommend any other multiplayer games ?

Dunn, I'm playing it a little bit on the XBox 360 and I think it's the worst of the entire franchise. There's more on-line play for Black Ops 2 than there is for Ghosts. It's practically unplayable...lag, aimbots, boosting shit. I'm almost done with it all.

We were enjoying Black Ops 2 but it kept freezing our system. I've heard of BO2 has fucked some PS3s up from this problem.

There may still be more players playing Ghosts when you consider the different platforms XBox One vs 360. The forced lag is a real bitch and I just don't play like I used to because of it.

Re: Call of Duty Ghosts Mega-Ban on PS3/4
I hear ya. We switched to Ghosts since BO2 was causing the system to freeze up, maybe 2/5 games would lock it up. Ghosts was a lot of fun at first, then the hacking and such became pretty bad. I understand that there is a problem with hacking but issuing a MASSIVE ban of folks like they did and then offering no customer support other than "You earned it by cheating" has really pissed me off.
One of the reasons I like COD so much is that I don't have to get wrapped up into it for hours to enjoy it. I played Skyrim and enjoyed the hell out of it, but I just don't like the time investment. I would rather be able to play for maybe 30 mins to an hour and be done, otherwise I feel like a complete lazy fucker for sitting still for so long.

I hear this 100%. I look back with no small sense of shame as to the hundred plus hours I invested in Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, and Skyrim. Then again, I don't sit around and watch five hours of TV every night like most adults, so for me these games became my "veg time" in front of the idiot box.Dunn wrote:One of the reasons I like COD so much is that I don't have to get wrapped up into it for hours to enjoy it. Having said that, I also tend to now stick with games that can be enjoyed in smaller bites. Contrast that with a game like Skyrim where you spend 45 minutes battling your way through some dungeon only to discover that what you're looking for has been stolen and taken to another dungeon on the other side of the map and you'll be damned if you stop before you find whatever it is that you're looking for and the next thing you know five hours has passed. Oh, and not to mention dozens of hours cutting wood, foraging for certain flowers, crafting new weapons, and wondering why your wife is leaving you for the mailman because you have a serious video game addiction.
Best games I've played over the last few years...
Shooters and Action Games:
Far Cry 3 (BRILLIANT!!!)
Borderlands 2 (way better than the first one)
All of the Bioshock games
All of the Arkham Batman games with Arkham City being the finest of the series
Fighting Games:
Mortal Kombat (great reboot of the series)
Injustice: Gods Among Us (same makers as Mortal Kombat...like pron for DC comics nerds)
Capcom vs Marvel series
Hack and Slash:
Diablo 3 (although, this one can be a time soak if you can't control the urge to grind through)
Of course, I'm a fool for all of the Bethesda stuff, but I have sworn them off because of the time commitment. I was a GTA fan in the past, but I have sworn them off because they're really not doing anything new and they are a similar time drainer like the epic Bethesda Games.
I'm currently giving Dark Souls a try. On the surface it looks like it can be a time eater like Skyrim, but I haven't found that to be true. It's easier to keep that one under control since you die about every five goddamned minutes. Anybody who can plow away at that one for more than 45 minutes at a time is either a master gamer or a true masochist.

Word up on the Batman series. I would never have played it but a buddy bought me a copy of the first game for my birthday and I couldn't stop playing it.
I might have to check out Titanfall which is out now if you have the XBox One...couple of weeks or so for 360 users.

I don't think I've even started up the 360 in 3 or 4 months.
I feel out of the loop, but I don't do the multiplayer thing.

Comic book adaptions for video games have been notoriously shitty from the start. The Arkham games not only buck this trend, but represent some of the best games published in the last 10 years. Arkham City is easily one of my top 3 favorite games of all time.Shapecharge wrote:Word up on the Batman series. I had a best buy card and grabbed Dark Souls 2. I don't know why, I only went so far in Dark Souls. About 45 minutes is the right amount of time. Enjoyable, and I've only died 50 times in 3 areas.

Kaz is 100% simpatico with the games I love. The Arkham games are pretty much perfect. Iffin yer lookin' for a Green Lantern whoopin' in some Injustice, hit me on XBL @ ThatManKP. If you're pretty good at Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition, I formally invite you to kick the shit out of me via XBL. Later, dick smoochers.

Because Dark Souls commanded it.Shafpocalypse Now wrote:I had a best buy card and grabbed Dark Souls 2. I don't know why
Fucking Dark Souls...that "game" will backhand you across the mouth, bend you over a stump, and make man smoothies in your rectal cavity.
Goddamn Japs...we gave them Hiroshima and Nagasaki...they gave us Dark Souls. That thing is the equivalent of voluntary tentacle rape. I don't know if that game is fun, or if it just re-programs your concept of fun. Either way, a compelling experience that keeps drawing you back in (for more rape).

I'm still waiting for the next Rainbow 6 game to come out. What was once a great game franchise got all fucked up.

Re: Call of Duty Ghosts Mega-Ban on PS3/4
Nice.
As far as PC games go, and this says a lot about my nerdiness, I don't think I could've made it through working a desk job without Arctic and Disc World MUDs. All text so the boss didn't know. With current business PC security I doubt it would be feasible today.
I broke out Skyrim today for a bit. Gonna play in 30-45 mins sessions on occasion til something else pops up. Hopefully they reverse the ban since my wife and I really enjoyed co-op multiplayer.

Re: Call of Duty Ghosts Mega-Ban on PS3/4
I didn't get hit with the ban, but I did trade Ghosts in recently. It was overrun with hackers, and was kind of a step-down from Black Ops 2 in terms of graphics, sound design, and gameplay.
Re: Call of Duty Ghosts Mega-Ban on PS3/4
I honestly don't know how you guys find time to play these things. They are awesome and fun but hours pass by easily. I can't even find time to sit down and watch a sitcom much less sink hours into the Xbox. Not that I wouldn't like to...
"Know that! & Know it deep you fucking loser!"

Re: Call of Duty Ghosts Mega-Ban on PS3/4
I can't stand to play these for more than a half hour at a time, so they aren't much of a time sink. That also means I suck at them and constantly lose to the 12-year olds who have nothing better to do.
