Just finished watching this.
Once again, great stuff. Dan makes training fun in the sense that he doesn't make it rocket science. He says rocket scientists are not good lifters or something to that effect. The Olympic lifting and drills are as much a method of fitness, anti-aging, and healthy activity, as they are a guide to someone starting out, hoping to dive into the sport.
I liked Dan's approach of showing the individual tightness, compensations, and postures of some of the attendees. It beats dragging out a genetic freak to do ATG squats with 600lbs for 50 reps,.. then saying you should aspire to that level.
I think this DVD has enough tips to help almost anyone in a weight room. Just little tweaks that may get you over a stumbling block. Just Dan's method of simplifying the jerk or snatch are worth the price.

I'd suggest you get this. You really can't go wrong with this series.

Re: Dan John Olympic Lifting For Beginners
I am hoping to get a new barbell for Christmas and I wanted to do some oly lifting if I do. I'll be getting this, along with From The Ground Up, when I do start trying some oly.

I waited until part four of the series came out and then ordered. This series looks great.

Re: Dan John Olympic Lifting For Beginners
The more footage I see of Dan, the more impressed I am. He makes all this stuff accessible and clearly enjoys what he does. I'll order the whole set.
Over time, your quickness with a cocky rejoinder must have gotten you many punches in the face.

The kettlebell DVD was certainly a great investment, so I will probably get the whole series.TomFurman wrote:Just finished watching this.
