Saw these niggers in concert last Saturday. And they put on a hell of a show. Sounded just as good live as on their CDs and they played for a little over 2 hours.
And I took the whole crew; Amazon, Idiot Boy, and Drama Queen and although the kids pooped out on me early everyone had a good time.
Opening band was a group out of Stilwater by the name of Mayola. They weren't bad either. Visited with the lead singer a bit before and after the show.
After Southern Rock Opera, I felt there was no fucking way they'd get it up, but Decoration Day was just as good, if not as conceptually focused.
Dirty South and A Blessing and a Curse left me a bit flat, and seemed to be missing something, and the lukewarm feelings I got from those two albums (though each had some stand out songs) and thus I haven't really gotten into their two latest too deeply.
I haven't seen them live yet, but keep waiting for them to come up to Michigan again. I haven't checked lately.
