'Broke' made me sick to my stomach. Listening to moolies like Andre Rison bitch about 25k per week not being that much after you 'got to pay incum taxi's and aw dat' was absolutely fucking ridiculous.
I have seen Broke a few times now, and each time I have a different reaction.
On the one hand, I wonder what I would have done with that kind of money in my early 20's. I still wonder how I would handle it in my late 20's, but I hate most of my family and my friends are mostly not deadbeats, so I'd probably be fine.
On the other hand, how many times do you need to hear the stories of athletes going bust, sometimes when they're still playing, to get it? Apparently a lot. Of course, if it was that easy, nobody with money would ever go broke in any line of work.

It was pretty good. The main point was talking about he was kind of a mythical athlete. I think my favorite part was when they talked about how he nonchalantly ran up the outfield wall after making a catch. Worth a watch particularly if you were around at that time.

The guy could have (probably should have) ended up like Marcus Dupree but he seems to have a very good internal compass. I left being more impressed with Bo the human being than Bo the athlete as amazing as he was.

Bo is still my all time favorite athlete.
I used to tape his baseball games on TV, somewhere I still have his comeback game with the White Sox on tape when he hit the home run for his first at bat after surgery, his "time out, oh fuck they missed it... home run" on tape and I remember where I was when he injured his hip.
I had his shoes, his book, three posters of him in action (no homo) and had an almost idol worship of his athletic ability. He may have been one of the best pure athletes in our generation.
He is a class act as a person and a lot of athletes who's careers were cut short by injury like that probably wouldn't be the same. He made a good career for himself after sports, clearly he was raised right.
