New AKC Performance Bells

Post by D66 »

Has anyone put their hands on these new bells with the grooves on the body? I would assume that they are very comfortable, but just wanted to get an opinion from someone who's used them.

Thanks.

Corrigan says he loves them, as an FYI.

Shaf,

Thanks. They are about $40 more than the regular ones, but I would bet it's worth it, especially for a weight that you spend the most time with.

I may get one for my wife (womens smaller size), since she has more complaints about bells hurting her forearms.

I ordered one of the womens Performance bells for my wife. The grooves are cool; nothing negative about them. The handle fits me very nicely, maybe a LITTLE too snug, but with some lite wrist wraps, I could easily use it. I really see the true benefit of the grooves coming into play with the heavy bells...28kg & up, but I'm sure women will enjoy them on any size bell.

I just did a test run with my new WKC performance bells and I have to say that I am impressed. I had to do absolutely nothing to make them ready for a 10 min set. The handles held chalk well and the feel of the grooves were very useful in allowing me to focus on feeling and lifting the weight rather than the pressure the bells put on my little bird wrists.

Placed the order over the weekend and received them at my door this afternoon. Total time from final click to at my door was 4 days. Awesome speed.

All in all a great purchase that I see me using, especially in the incremental weights, in the future.

I'll be curious to hear how numbers are effected between the two styles. For example if you can get 100 reps with the performance bells and that translates to 85 reps when one switches back to test, or if there's a difference at all.
