Not in the ballpark of Casino Royale. Could have skipped it. Could blather on about it. Won't.

But why the fuck is everyone pronouncing solace as souless?

Because they're British?

I enjoyed it. Nothing ground-breaking or new, but plain old blow-stuff-up diversionary fun.

Nope. Every American, Brit, Indian, etc. I've asked except my GF, when the prompt is: "What is the title of the news James Bond film?" When I ask them how the say: "I take solace in x", they pronounce it "properly." All the folks on TV and radio pronounce whether British or not, pronounce it as "soulless".

I find this interesting.

The amazing Oxford Dictionary of American English gives one standard pronunciation and it is the one Buckethead posted on the other movie thread. Nothing mentioning pronouncing it as "soulless". The Oxford would mention regional and national variants.

Yes, I know other dictionaries throw in the long O variant.
