razor sharp edgemaking system

The accusharp is convenient and effective, but this thing is absolutely insane. I just sharpened several knives and some broadheads to ridiculously sharp in about 5 minutes. All you need is a bench grinder and these wheels. All you knife afficionados need one of these and an accusharp! Can't shank anyone if you're knife doesn't get through a winter coat. Also, I can't tell you the number of folks who've come in with a knife in their belly; I take 'em to the OR and open with the knife in place only to find a dull blade nestled among uncut bowel. Dull knife doesn't do anyone any good y'know.

Great for the kitchen knives too!

Grinders are good for anything with a beveled edge, or as with knives, two of them. The Twice As Sharp would work well too. Far better than whetstones.

Twice as sharp is over 300 bucks.
I got a $20 bench grinder from ebay and put on the $32 set and I'm good to go.

If you have a bench grinder make sure you have the guards and tongues in adjustment, and wear eyewear. The injuries from the wheels blowing look like they were standing next to a grenade when the safety precautions aren't taken.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

Spells,
I've had the opportunity to operate on about 7 of those injuries.
One guy had a messed up knife which cracked in half and sent part of the blade through his belly.
I have the thing set up so the wheels rotate away. a bit more awkward, but if the thing flys away it'll hit the wall instead of me. I also wear thick gloves to protect my hands and eyewear...
