Resilience by Eric Greitens
Listened to the interview on the Art of Manliness (thanks BD).
Read the first letter. Fucking hell, I find I have to take a fucking break for a day.
Very well written, lots of things to think about. Probably going to get a copy for each of my adult sons, but especially the brain tumor survivor

Re: Resilience by Ben Greitens
Yeah that was beyond awesome.
Thanks.
EDIT
The SEALS need to give us all a break and take a vacation from the limelight though.

Isn't it Eric Greitens, not Ben?

Re: Resilience by Eric Greitens
I'm half way through, and you're right - some of the early letters are full of advice (that at least for me) caused to me rethink the way I've handled my adulthood.
One thing about the writing style that kinda irks me is it reads as if he has a stack of 3x5 cards with a point and a quote on it and is just going from the top.

I'm gonna have to snatch that up as well. Found his interview very much along the lines of the Constructive Living book but even more practical insights.

I came across that some time back and it put me off - writing style perhaps. Need to give it another shot.

I don't know but probably the general SEAL stuff. He eats the things that SEALs eat and reads SEAL books. Did I mention he is a former SEAL?E2>200 wrote:What does he recommend in terms of EDC?

Excellent podcast. The whole series, really. I've listened to a few of them now.

Re: Resilience by Eric Greitens
I bought the audiobook and was playing it during a road trip over the weekend. I think I'll buy the print version for easier referencing.
Greitens seems more helpful than most shrinks I know and it's not even his field of expertise. It's exceptional.
