Got it at Wal-Mart because the price was right at $10, Purefoy was decent in 'Ironclad' (which I liked), and being a Robert E. Howard fan I just had to take a look.
Sucked donkey balls. There's some good things here, but they are overshadowed by the "Sy-Fy Original Movie" flavor that this thing gives off. That, and you can see the pitches coming from a mile away. In the end, it commits the mortal sin of not producing any characters that you give two shits about, and tries to make its nut on a main character who is an evil psychopath seeking redemption from God by slaying evil in a dull and visually uninspiring manner.
It plods, it tries, it fails. Nothing here that you haven't seen before and done 100x better.

Re: Solomon Kane
Helpful review. I just read a review a couple days ago that claimed it to be the most accurate adaptation of any Howard work.

It screws up as much as it gets right, imo. Never a good sign when I'm an hour into it, and debating whether to shut it off or finish it out.
