The Rotator

This thing is one of the rare items that does exactly what it is advertised to do. It gives you a tool that enables you to stretch the internal and external rotators of the shoulder in a way that you cannot do by yourself.

If you have tight shoulders with reduced ROM in either internal or external rotation, or both, this is an excellent and easy to use device to help you stretch them, consistently and progressively. This may be the best way to improve that flexiblity without a manual therapist working on you.

Lots of vids on the website

I'm really pretty impressed with the way it's improving my shoulder's ROM.

I'm lazy and dumb, so please answer me this:

Would your typical older guy who has problems raising his elbows above shoulder / chin height get some help from this? (All caveats aside).

How long does a "session" take?

Norm:

This is for strictly rotational issues (internal and external) I do not know if it will help with an issue of impingement that hinders lifting the arm overhead, and suspect it would be very individual.

Around 5 minutes of work with each arm is how much time I use it.

If you sat on it, I'm sure you would sit up damn straight.

I have a freebie Rotator being sent to me due to the generosity of the guys at The Rotator and shall report back once i've used for a while.
I'd say on the bottom of that self-actualisation pyramid shit, proper decent coffee is in there with wifi, tits, food and shelter

bump

Any further reports? I'm definitely not satisfied with KStar's rotator cuff stretches on the mWOD...

After doing all that MobWOD stuff, I still find the Rotator to be better at both internal and external rotation stretching.

Like when using JS bands? Concerning MWod, it has done good things for my back and especially hips/hip flexors and lower body. To be fair, though, I haven't done but 8 or 9 of them.

So, Shaf, this Rotator is good stuff? What about that other tool that has the long straight section then a hook with the ball on the end that is supposed to get out knots(Theracane)?

Rotator = stretching device

Theracane = tool for self myofacial release or trigger point work.

Yes, Mickey, for external and internal rotation, I find the rotator to be better for that dedicated purpose. I can get it done with the JS bands, no doubt, but it's just not as targeted.

I'll add my endorsement for both the rotator and the theracane.

I can't say I know. But I think this is gonna be under my Christmas Tree. Should be great to improve ROM for grappling.
