Re: Right now I'm reading

Shoe Dog by Phil Knight the dude who created Nike.

Everyone I know who has read it agrees it's a page-turner. He's a great writer and a very solid story. One of the most interesting, well-written biographies I can remember reading.

Re: Biden's America: Russian Military Buildup on Ukrainian Border

If things kicked off with Russia, then presumably China would jump in for them and vice versa? The West factors India into their plans, so that weapons agreement could be pretty inconvenient.

Re: Crypto

Wow - sorry been away from the forums for a bit: I find Australia's preoccupation with property and house ownership annoying. It was noted at a work seminar with international people how much of an obsession we have with house prices vs. the rest of the world. My attitude I think is fuelled by: - A ...

Thanks for the responses! I'm with newguy and Sango in terms of what the fuck do you do when it's going gang-busters? Thanks heaps, Spells, for outlining it like that. I'm definitely not good enough to predict either. It's really, really hard for me not to get into the cynical - borderline conspirac...

Anyone here onboard? I get a lot of pro-crypto stuff on my Twitter timeline everyday, but don't often hear dissenting voices. Aside from the one in my head exclaiming nothing's real.

Bugger.

Are the people being looked after or do you think it will get ugly? I think about some of those suburbs in the outlying areas of Waikiki.

I'm not saying the virus isn't real, or couldn't pose threats, but overdramatising it in this way is some 3D chess that is kinda impressive. A compelling reason for those deleted phone accounts none the less. Everything I've heard about Aus is the government has gone pretty full on Reichstag. Is th...

Re: Presidential Debates

All I caught was Trump lashing Biden for not mentioning cops in Portland because his radical left support would dissipate. I thought it was pretty spot on.

Overall, hasn't made me more relaxed about the future though.

Re: The Social Dilemma on Netflix

In 2010, someone told me verbally, in person a relative was doing Krav Maga. Within 10 minutes I got a target ad for a local Krav school. I had never searched for it, or even had an interest. I thought it was odd, but kept happening over the next 4 years. Everyone I knew told me I was paranoid and t...

I spoke to my doctor this week. He's Chinese so I asked for his take on what's happening. I didn't know that he was practising over there in emergency units during SARS. He said COVID is definitely not as deadly, but with SARS, it never escaped because people died so quickly. He told me he'd show up...

My friends and I regularly lament how by being forced into city apartment living and largely the products of parents who did everything - don't have a lot of experience with the sorts of stuff you mentioned, Tim. One of them tells a story about instead of being shown how to fix his bike, his dad wou...

Yep, from cluster fitness NZ. Took 14 weeks to arrive as they order a container once a month from China. There’s a few options for buffalo style bars in Aus, the Goliath one is really good If they get back in stock. The cluster I think is a the same as Titan Yukon, knurling is pretty soft, and ring...

I’ve just received mine, the Titan V2 is a Chinese copy of the EliteFTS yoke bar. Got mine from Cluster Fitness NZ, Verve in Australia also sell one of same design. Good padding, handles good length.
