Re: Penny Dreadful

Eva Green's tormented soul act gets tiresome and overdone in short order. Rory Kinnear's Frankenstein's monster is much better in that regard. Be sure to stop watching after season two. It will save you some disappointment.

Re: Albuquerque

I was born there and lived there for 17 years. Cost of living is relatively low, but crime is relatively of high for a city that size. The popular wisdom is that it is mainly a consequence of drug trafficking North from Mexico. I visit twice a year as all of my immediate family still live there and ...

Re: Dynamic Alignment through Imagery

This is an interesting book. It would probably be even better with an audio companion to verbalize the instructions as you try the exercises so you don't have to keep looking back and forth at the book to make sure you understood the imagery. You could probably record something yourself though.

A while back in CJ Murphy's Total Performance Sports newsletter was the following writeup: TPS Smokes Boston CrossFit! On Sunday 8/24, TPS participated in the Corporate Challenge (Sponsor's Relay Race) at the 2nd Annual N.E. Firefighter Combat Challenge© (FFCC)Series in Haverhill, MA. Competing agai...

Re: Shaggy's Activate! - Most Excellent!!

I have used the ACTIVATE! technique before my Jumpstretch flexibility drills a few times now. I bitched in another thread how the JS Flexibility routine was doing jack squat for my hamstring flexibility. Thanks to ACTIVATE! I can no longer complain about that. It has really made the JS flexibility m...

Re: The Boys are Back in Town

Also, your discussion about the relationship between sex and growth hormones is on the money; I can personally attest to it and plan on blogging about it this week! Let's just say that I'm over 35, and I didn't pay that much attention to your discussion about this in one of your books that I have u...

I found the discussion on the impact of exceeding your maximum heart rate on your skills performance particularly interesting. I never heard it explained that way before but maybe I'm just way out of the loop

Yeah, the reason I asked in that I tried the Viatmin Shoppe/BodyTech TechX meal replacement powder which is also sweetened with sucralose. It has a weird, almost bitter aftertaste to it

I have 'Resilient', which I received as a birthday gift. It has some good stuff in it. The lunges have helped my hip flexors, and the french presses are helping my shoulder girdle flexibility. I like the kettlebell hack squat as it gave me a new perspective on squatting mechanics. I like the emphasi...
