I recieved the following reply shortly thereafter.Regarding the 500 lb Olympic weight sets (product number OSB500);
What is the rating on the bar, and is it black as advertised in the
picture? Also it does have knurling in the center as well, correct?
What is the breakdown of plate sizes on a 500 lb set?
Also, I'm curious why the shorter OL bars (the 5 and 6 ft sizes) are
more expensive then a standard 7 ft bar?
Look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks.
Seemingly good knowledge, but must follow up on the knurling issue. Still haven't heard anything though. How hard can it be to find that out? I'm getting tired of the "one answer wonder" bullshit going on lately. If you send a company an email, they will answer you initially, but if you have follow-up questions, and write them again, you don't hear shit back. Our 500lb set does come with the black bar. The bar has a 1000lb
capacity. It should have center knurling, but I can't guarantee it 100%.
The plate assortment is 6-45's, 2-35's, 2-25's, 4-10's, 4-5's, 2-2.5's.
As far as the bar prices, we buy 7 foot bars in such huge quantities,
that we actually pay less for them than the shorter bars. We pass that
savings on to our customers.

So FF, I like your prices, but in this age of telephones and email, if I don't have an answer by Friday at midnight my time, then I'm going to order the two 300# sets from NY Barbell even though it's a more expensive option. The question is not that fucking complicated.I like the price on your sets. The only thing I need to know for sure
is about that knurling in the center of the bar. I need to be sure
those black bars are knurled in the center for things like the PTP
Side Press and Squats (helps keep the bar in place).
If you can let me know that, then you can count on my ordering that
set in the couple months shortly before my return later this year.
