Why? Because I drink too much coffee. Normal black tea gives me a shitty taste if I have it without milk or a trembling sensation if I have it with, (odd, I know). Green tea gets old quickly, and will never make serious inroads into my coffee habit.
I'm therefore experimenting with some more leftfield stuff.
Birt and Tang have a range which appeal to me for their blatant play on Chinese/Taoist/Qi-gong type culture. It was a toss up between this and something called Yogi Tea, but the latter had less bags so thriftyness won the day. Maybe I'll try the yogi tea after I've done paying for my wedding.
Price: £1.99 for 20 bags. A bit pricey IMO.
Taste: nicely spicey - almost fizzes on the tongue. Ginger bouqet, (does that mean smell?) Cinnamon aftertaste. Cinnamon is good. Kicks the piss out of normal black tea, may possibly prefer it to roibus.
Effect: no discernable effect on energy despite its high energy packaging. No jittery anxious feelings though either which I sometimes get after the 8th or 9th cup of coffee. This is a good thing.
Regular use of this stuff is supposed to help you lose bodyfat according to my boss, who spends far too long looking for quick fixes to solve his chocolate fetish. I'll be doing a cup a day for the next two weeks and will report on this side of things. I don't expect any miracles.
