Bottleneck players should give this device a try. It's a bar with a wing that fits on a ring, you filp the wing up to play with your fingers and down to play slide. The deal is that you can play both ways with no/minimal compromise from either perspective, but it takes some practice to get used to the newness of the way it operates. It took me a few weeks (since Xmas) to get the hang of the thing, but it's the single best new thing for stringed instrument playing that I've ever tried. Make sure you get the right size.
