This book is pretty new and I hadn't seen any discussion on it so I thought i'd add it to an order from amazon when buying Dan Johns "Never Let Go" and Pavels PTTP Professional.
Dan's book is fantastic, enough said. PTTP Pro is pretty good too although I doubt most people would have the time or patience to stick with a lot of the routines and pavels pencil sketches of PL's are a bit weird.
So on to "Anatomy Without a Scalpel"
Background - I've been a PT, S+C Coach, Oly coach and KB instructor for about he last 13 years in some way shape or form and in all that time my weakest link in terms of formal education was in the anatomy department. I've got a couple of medical anatomy texts but there is so much extraneous crap in them that they make for hard reading and there are few examples drawn from sports.
I've only read the first quarter of the book so far and skimmed the rest but so far it's proving to be about 500% easier to read and 1000% more relevant to coaching and lifting than any anatomy text I've seen.
All of the superfluous medical speak is gone and while things are referred to in their correct anatomical terms the descriptions are straight forward and easy to apply. The anatomical information is related directly to sport and S+C movements.
Overall so far it's proving to be pretty good and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to gain a foundation of anatomy knowledge but who doesn't need a full blown clinical level of knowledge.
