One dose of the hallucinogenic drug LSD could help alcoholics give up drinking, according to an analysis of studies performed in the 1960s.

A study, presented in the Journal of Psychopharmacology, looked at data from six trials and more than 500 patients.

It said there was a "significant beneficial effect" on alcohol abuse, which lasted several months after the drug was taken.

An expert said this was "as good as anything we've got".

AA cofounder Bill Wilson used to drop acid after founding AA. When other members of the organization found out they pressured him to stop. I'm agnostic on the benefits of it, and I'm content to go to meetings.

I'm not agnostic about this at all. Anyone who reads this post should do their best to try either LSD or psilocybin mushrooms in their life. You could instantly become a higher form of life.

I've done mushrooms. I loved them. I became convinced, the first time, that Beaker from the Muppets held the secret knowledge of the inner workings of the universe. I second your recommendation.

I was, at one point, a line of Longitude. Once I aligned my body in exactly the right direction head to toe, north to south, I was completely attuned to the magnetic resonance of the Earth.

They grow in cow shit.

Bux, ideal way is to find some pasture and go early in the morning, before the sun is up. Look for clumps of fresh grass, which is a good indicator of manure, and if you part the blades you are likely to find some nice little mushies waiting for you. Tap on the caps with your finger to release spores (for next time yo) and then pluck them up. Store fresh mushrooms in a paper bag for up to a couple of hours, but after that immerse in a jar of honey to store for longer periods of time.

Friend of mine in medical school (in the psychiatry program...no shit) teaches people how to grow their own in mason jars. The basic ingredients and supplies can be found anywhere...hardest part is getting the initial colony started.

Only stuff I've ever had here was dried. Worked just fine.

Is that true everywhere or only in tropical/subtropical areas. Do psilocybins grow in the midwest/northeast too?

I hear what you guys are saying but having sampled both, my method will result in superior spaceflight. And yes, cubensis grow in the northwest. But usually the cubensis I have seen on the West Coast was farmed and inferior, to my mind.

Anyway, don't quibble about which is best, go for what you can get. Good LSD in gelatin or liquid form is also an important compound. I frankly have NO desire to take it ever again, but everyone should try it once. Shed your skin like a snake.

There's psilocybine mushrooms growing even at the polar circle. They are meant for everyone.

I had a buddy in college who tried to do shrooms for 30 days straight. It didn't work out well for him.

He was "literally" a different person after something like 8 days. Not sure how far he ended up getting.
