Oh for fuck's sake. The research I saw presented today at the MedicalCannabis.com conference on the many ways that THC and more importantly, cannabidiols (CBD) actually help the human system was outrageous. When people realize that outlawing weed really leads to this crap, maybe they will re-think it.

Although, weed does lead people to doubt both the gov't and the conventional medical establishment (which says it is sooooo bad), and we can't have that.

"Gateway theory" or the "gateway drug" was pretty much shown to be a farce too, at least in weed's case. Research has been done (and more is coming) showing weed to be a great way to get people off the harder drugs.

Kids are stupid and the internetz isn't helping matters.

On a little grow:

"Wow, that last hit got me. I'm gonna go in the other room and lie down. Wanna come along?"
*No?"*
*She said no? Wow. She probably thinks I'm an asshole.*
Time passes.
*I am an asshole. Fuck me.*

On bourbon.

"Tasty. Hey, let's go in the other room. I got something to show you."
*No? She said no?*
virtually no time passes.
* Stupid bitch.*

I don't know, I've worked in criminal law and I've seen a lot of people fucked up on weed.

I appreciate that may be somewhat of a proximity bias, but all the same. Weed fucks people up. It just does.....

Can't fix stupid, and they'll find whatever they can to escape reality. See the link above.

I still think that normal/regular folk who get into weed can end up on the scrap heap. Psychoactive drugs are a crapshoot, no matter what anyone says.

People get addicted to exercise too. The endocannabinoid system in animal nervous systems, which is older than weed, is heavily affected by exercise.

Everything is psychoactive, and yes, playing with one's brain on chemicals of any sort is playing with a bit of fire. That said, no one will ever prove that weed is worse for people than alcohol ever was.

I think that it would be fun to ban EVERYTHING for a few years, perhaps even a few months. I mean alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, codine, Vicodin - the entire spectrum. Then, sit back and see what ways people use to get high that we have never thought of.

Of course, Central American cartels would own the world if the experiment lasted for more than a few weeks, but still.

Those digital file things are bullshit. Supposedly the music alters your brainwaves to give you the feeling of a high.

After myself and around 10-15 mates tried several of them, the conclusion we came to was that the only people who would get anything off them were the sort of people who got knocked out by one toke of weed.

Articles like this are 90% bullshit, and just intended to get the good burghers of Middle America riled up. Dear Abbey used to run scare tactic columns like this when she had no other ideas. I don't believe for one second that teens are sitting in a circle in their mom's basement wigging out to trippy electronic brainwave music.

Fuck, even the first entry:
Hand sanitizer
A half dozen teens in California have ended up in emergency rooms after drinking alcohol that had been extracted from hand sanitizer. Through a distillation process, the kids were able to create a moonshine with a whopping 60 percent alcohol content. If that seems dumb and dangerous, here are 9 other surprising ways teens are making the legal illicit:
Any kids smart enough to figure out how to distill hand sanitizer would be able to reason that it's simpler and easier to pay a sketchy adult a $20 premium to pick them up a handle of peach schnapps.

And when it comes to huffing inhalants, that's natural selection at work: inhalant abuse is the lowest rung on the addiction ladder, and only the stupidest people on earth gravitate to inhalants. They would have been lifelong losers even if they hadn't learned to do whippets.

Maybe I'm just getting old and cranky, but I see certain things on the news, and not just this hand sanitizer thing, and I think that maybe we should just leave Natural Selection alone. I think it's pretty good.

Did your m8s do anything to you while you were out of it?
