53-year-old Tim Karaker was a spectator at the Fire Extreme Fighting MMA event in Kankakee, Illinois, last Saturday, where, for some reason, he agreed to replace a no-show fighter, and step in the ring to fight an experienced opponent half his age.

That dude should just go ahead and commit suicide.

He's actually fought before:

Some reconds on the Internets of getting KO'd as well, so he had at least a few prior fights. Not a random fan who thought he'd step in the ring.

There's a lot of stupid to go around in that video.

Old man strength. Old age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill.

Exactly, however it maybe what you're dreaming about after getting KTFO or choked out. Unless your plan calls for driving over them with your car on the way in from the parking lot; youth and skill pretty much rule in combat sports.

The old guy's "leg kicks" were risible. That was my take away.

Could have been a work-- betting both fighters got paid in this one.

Agree.

I don't really know anything about MMA but doubt that a promotor would let an audience member simply step into the ring or parallelogram or whatever the kids call it.

More risible was how the young retard kept walking into the "old" man's straight right hand.

You overestimate the ability of the fighters in local promotions. If the fighters for a schedules bout 1) show up and 2) make weight, that's a victory for the promoters.

So the old guy with the beer belly just happened to have gloves, trunks, mouthguard and a cup handy to jump in? Cause I'd hate to think he was borrowing a cup and mouthguard.

Why not? We always have that stuff handy. Never know when there's gonna be a bar fight. Just watch out for the straight right hand sonny.

Always gets back to basics, straight rights. Land yours, slip theirs and you'll likely win. That young kid was dumb.

You'd be amazed at the number of guys who show up to help corner, work the back, or just spectate with all their gear.

I've seen fights like this get set with 20# weight difference and serious differences in experience. Especially in fucking Arkansas. Jeezus that state is fucking horrible for MMA rules/sanctioning.
