Got to admit I spanked it to thoughts of Romana and Leela as a young boy.

Great show-- liked it as a kid; like it more now. Fortunately nobody has tried to come out with a crappy US version-- like they did with Life on Mars or Kitchen Nightmares.

God I watch alot of Limey TV and listen to alot of their music.
Inspector Lewis, Doc Martin, Doctor Who, Zen ect they do some good stuff.

There's getting to more Scandinavian shit streaming as well which is all over the map but most of it is gritty and good. Pusher series is nice as is A Somewhat Gentle Man with Stellan John Skarsgård.

My kids are split between the two.

The angels creep me the fuck out. The Silence I think are legit scary new series big bass-- which were sorely needed.

Also-- I fucking LOVED Life on Mars. Phillip Glenlister is the shit. I walked around calling everyone Gladys for a few weeks.

Netflux streaming is brilliant for most BBC series.

The Box is the way to go if you want the more current stuff. BBC America is a disappointment for the most part, although they do show Top Gear.

There's supposed to be a third "series".

My wife and I have been watching Peep Show lately on Hulu. It's odd, but funny.

Can't remember the name of it at the moment, but their used to be a series shown on PBS about a Brit dentist and his family. The wife (played the quidditch instructor in Harry Potter) was always making these awful meals, daughter was a ditz, and the son was a smart ass.

Re: Luther- one of the things I like about the beeb is they don't string a season out into 20 plus episodes or 6 stale seasons.

Was a big fan in mid seventies to early eighties up until my early teens, (in Australia this meant late Pertwee episodes followed by the Tom Baker years).
Still a fan just don't have much time for TV entertainment. Did see some of the later episodes and still rate it both for its contemporary quality and nostalgia sake.

In Oz we got most of the good BBC stuff on our ABC national TV channel. I think the 70's and 80's were a classic time for BBC.

Not exactly monsters-- but in that vein the Empty Child and Van Gogh's depression were well done too. I don't know if I would have appreciated the Van Gogh episode much as a kid though.
