Saw a thing on History Ch of a Hungarian guy who practices horseback archery like his Hun ancestors. Fucking amazing shit! And he said he's slow comapred to what the ancient Hun warriors could do.
The Mongol under Ghengis requiered 2 hours of combat training a day, Bow and sword as well as they wrestled for fun and spent more time on horseback then on foot.

Durring the Napolionic Wars, Wellingtom wrote back to England inquiring on starting a long bow corps, as he felt that the higher rate of fire he read of English archers durring Agincourt and Crechy would be very usefull in further efficientcy of breaking down French Infantry colums.
The idea was scraped when it became apparent that there were not enough people skilled with the longbow in England anymore to form even a Company, let alone a Regiment due to the fact that it took years to develope the skill with the bow of the medevil archers.
He suppossedly was pretty dissapointed by this as he could see in his mind how hundreds of arrows every 5-10 seconds lobbed into the mid and rear ranks of the colums could augment the Infanrty musket volly's into the front ranks and riflemen killing the officers and NCO's.

That guy you mention is in the video: Lajos Kassai
Best book I've read about the Huns: Attila the Hun by John Man
he mentions that no soldiers would come close to this speed or density of fire until the repeating gun in the late 1800s.
200 men on horseback, 45 seconds, 5000 aimed arrows.
Fucking awesome.

The attack jets of their day. Shoot, move and communicate at it best for it's day.
One caviat though. The Roman Legion Attila fought was not of the level of those of Scipio, Caesar or Trajen. By Attila's time their skill at drill manuver in battle was no where near their heyday. The flexabilty of their formations were a main reason for Roman military supremicy not to mention few of them were even Roman anymore.
Kind of like the Clones of the GAR vs' the Stormtroopers of the Empire. ;-)

Time to outlaw bows and arrows.
Three dead in possible bow-and-arrow attack at Wyoming college
1:12 p.m. CST, November 30, 2012
At least three people were killed in an attack at a community college in Wyoming on Friday, prompting a lockdown at the school as police secured the scene at its science center, the Casper Star Tribune reported.
NBC News reported that the attack at Casper College may have been carried out by a bow and arrow style weapon and that a male faculty member was killed and a seriously injured person was taken into custody and was possibly a suspect.
The Star Tribune did not identify the dead, but had earlier quoted a college spokesman as saying the gunman was “possibly deceased.”
The school said on its website it had issued an emergency alert and advised against travel to the campus until further notice.
School and police officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment via phone and email. Campus security declined to comment.

I saw that on Google News about 15 minutes ago. This one should be interesting.

I had four blak arrows under my belt,
Four for the greefs that I have felt,
Four for the nomber of ill menne
That have opressid me now and then.
One is gone; one is wele sped;
Old Apulyaird is ded.
One is for Maister Bennet Hatch,
That burned Grimstone, walls and thatch.
One for Sir Oliver Oates,
That cut Sir Harry Shelton’s throat.
Sir Daniel, ye shull have the fourt;
We shall think it fair sport.
Ye shull each have your own part,
A blak arrow in each blak heart.
Get ye to your knees for to pray:
Ye are ded theeves, by yea and nay!
