Eli couldn't hear him because he had his 2 superbowl rings in his ears.

Lifelong Giants fan here:
they are...not good this year. It would help if they had an o-line that wasn't made out of immobile tackling dummies, but in the Bears game, a couple of the interceptions came before the pocket collapsed, and were either miscommunication btw Eli and the receiver, or just a bad throw. Their defense is not nearly as good as it was during the championship seasons.
BUT: I'm not sold on the whole OMG they need to fire Eli!!!! movement. It seems to me that he is pretty much doing exactly the same things as he's done every season since he started. He makes some good plays, and he goes on some hot streaks (fortunately they often come during the playoffs), but then he does some shit where he looks a lot more like his dad than his brother. It's just that this season the Archie moments have coincided with shitty play by the rest of the team, and so they're winless.

At the end of the day, they have to score more points than the other guys if they are going to win.

Anyone who thinks they need to get rid of Eli is an idiot. He's the least of their problems.

Exactly...he's no Tony Romo.

I just felt like posting this for Proto.

It's ridiculous that people want Eli's and Coughlin's head. One bad year and everyone has to go, two seasons after winning the superbowl. That's what the world has come to. Mediocrity is not even allowed. It's a good thing that the Giants management is usually pretty level headed about this (like the Steelers) and tend to look at the big picture. Of course, they might prove me wrong.

The only QB ever to throw more interceptions through six games is Dan Fouts with 16.
Eli is tied with Ken Stabler.
Thats pretty good company.

I'm not denying my fate. Read my post above on the situation. They suck. Plain and simple.
However, they have 4 superbowl victories. Only 5 teams can claim 4 or more and they are one of them. As good as Peyton is, Eli still has one more superbowl than him.
I can handle a bad season once in awhile. I just like to rebutt facts with facts.

I just remembered, you're an Eagles fan. Few suffer more than you. Talk about an exercise in futility.

i was in the stands when the eagles beat the packers in '60--take that vince lombardi
concrete charley played 60 minutes and ended the game sitting on jim taylor as the clock ran out
that experience has led to a lifetime of spectatorial contentment even though the birds have pretty much been bums ever since

Chuck started out his career as a waist gunner flying 30 missions over Germany. When he was 72 or 73 he was being unceremoniously awakened every morning by an uncaring bulldozer operator working on a lot next to his home. After having some words with the operator, he pulled him off the equipment and punched him out. He also thinks Chuck Norris is a pussy

I have an autographed copy of his book and live in his hometown (Bethlehem).
I wasn't alive when they played that game so in my mind it doesn't count.

how can a guy from chuck's home town root for the giants? that's more extreme than a sex change operation

I live in his hometown, but I'm not from his hometown. I grew up one town over (Easton, PA) right on the Delaware river.
Chuck retired from football well before I was born.

Ravens aren't so good this year, either. Of course, they pretty much have carte blanche right now.
As the Giants pretty much should.
