Half of Americans are stupid

The Constitution makes no mention of Gay marriage. To be fair, the other 40-50% that probably think the Constitution bans gay marriage are just as retarded.

So there you have it; 90-99% of Americans are stupid!

I'm so glad we've set the bar slow low for voting in this country. It's doing wonders!

As George Carlin once said, "Think about how stupid the average person is and then realize 1/2 the people are dumber than that."

hasn't the supreme court ruled on gay marriage? thus they concluded it is a constitutional issue, didn't they? and i believe they said the constitution protects your rights to marry your boyfriends.

Most recently they decided not to issue a stay on a ballot measure in Oregon, essentially declining to take up the issue which woudl have tuned into a states right question. I don't think they have fully resolved the constitutionality question.

Here's the boring ass write up.

Essentially they ruled not that same sex marriage is right, just that that DOMA is unconstitutional as writtne. So, the government has no power to impose a ban against it. Whether the states can continue to carry their own rules is still in play.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._Windsor
the Court issued a writ of certiorari in December 2012. On March 27, 2013, the court heard oral arguments. On June 26, 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a 5–4 decision declaring Section 3 of DOMA to be unconstitutional "as a deprivation of the liberty of the person protected by the Fifth Amendment."[5]:25

:) Wikipedia doesn't count.

It's a distinction without a difference for the most part. The court found depriving person of X was unconstional as written, not that a state couldn't theoretically come up with soemthing else.

Marriage as a legal contract between consenting adults, no matter their sex or number or combination thereof, is something I want the feds waaaay far away from.

Eventually the commerce clause or some other nook or cranny of the constitution will be interpreted such that SCOTUS will solidify gay marriage across the country in rainbow cement. At some point the sex, sexual orientation, and number of same involved will be irrelevant to marriage as interpreted by the state.

The book "Heather Has Two Mommies" will be rewritten as: "Heather Has 2 Mommies, 1.5 Daddies, 0.5 Proudly Indeterminate, and a Goat"

that will be a good day for american mormons and muslims, who currently may have only one wife at any time and thus are preventing from practicing their religion as their gods intended them to. the aclu should step up and help them.

In fact, think about how the likelihood of group marriages is going up. Forming a group marriage will help offset the costs of the ACA and of raising a kid or two.

The only upside to polygamy is that you can hang out with whichever of them isn't pissed at you at the moment.

Polygamy is the ultimate game of strategy, with the possibility of losing your ball in your sleep.

It's a man's game that exacts a man's price for sure.

Please illuminate us. Where is the marriage clause of the Constitution?

Thanks for proving my point.

Can't help but agree that half the American people are stupid. Not only by IQ scores but by electing Barack Obama not once but twice for no real reason other than the fact they think he's sexy and hot. Absolutely nothing to do with issues or policies. And if he were to run again, they would all vote for him again even if they disagreed with said policies. Doesn't matter what he ever says or does, he da man forever.
