Woman builds tree house in Hawaii

I always thought the tiny house thing was an interesting way to live cheaply, efficiently, and destroy one's dating prospects forever. The last part is probably not going to be a problem for Kristie.

Impressive but I totally don't understand what's going on with the builder. She's the opposite of type.

Minimalism has it's charms, up to the point people feel they need to force it up on others. That is probably my only gripe with some in the small house movement. Other than that, it's a very welcome movement away from excessive and wastefully architectural space style that have dominated house building over the last 50 years or so.
BTW- there was a story about another small house guy in Hawaii that built his house in what was basically a garage. It was his way around local zoning. Get a permit for a house and garage, build the garage with water, sewer electricity and never build the house.
I'm currently planning on lake cabin in the small house mode. I visit the lake for nature, not to keep myself cooped up in a Mc Mansion.
The chick definitely needed to do a shower scene to seal the deal.

You wouldn't be able to do any of that in most cities...it's zoning that would fuck it up rather than the building code. Most have minimum square footage requirements for living space. In unincorporated areas...not so much.

I typed code instead of zoning.
The garage idea is a one that people have pulled off in municipalities.
The small house thing works so because most are built on trailers and therefore are not considered a structure.

What the guy in HI did was, he got a permit for the garage + house. He built the "garage" and appointed it as a tiny house, then "ran out of funds."

I would buy the lot next door just to set up a lawn chair with a shower view.

Fatty died of a preventable accident because his family did not have nationwide insurance

The New, Cajun, Future Mrs. Doktor Agkistrodon and I have spoken about this. We both like the idea of shipping container houses, tree houses, and living off the grid in-general. Hunt and/or fish for food, tend to the weed crops, and read books at night by light from homemade candles.
Yes, there's a few skill sets we'd have to learn, vis: hunting, weed (and veggie/grain) farming, etc. but it's a fun thing to think about and talk about.

That's why we're not quitting our jobs, and we're going to be satisfied with remaining "Lafayette, Louisiana's Most Influential Power-Couple."

Just take a yearly vacation to one of the old fire lookouts that the Parks Service rents out - middle of nowhere, great views, fire and water to keep you alive. Plus a blowjob 40 feet in the air in the wilderness should be on everyone's bucket list.
