What are dreams?

What are dreams?
Are they one thing primarily?
Are they related to reality?
Are they more or less you than the waking you?
Are they useful?
I tend to think they are just a few of the random discharges of electrical impulses that occur at night and they are remembered because they are the ones that happen in the memory centers...

Not for any FB project, but I have two recurring dreams.
In the first, I can fly. I'm in a room in an old farmhouse and I suddenly realize I can fly. I sort of fall over with my arms out-stretched and float over to and out of the open window. From there I fly at a leisurely pace about 50 feet above the ground. The land is a rolling prairie. Sometimes it's green. Sometimes golden. It feels good and I think, "why haven't I been doing this all my life?"
The other dream is falling, but I am in water, sinking fast. I can see the post of a pier beside me and gauge how fast I'm sinking by watching it. Strangely, I can breathe, just not very well. I don't try to swim. I just think, "this does not bode well."
My thoughts: flying usually happens when something good is going on in my life. Falling in water happens when I'm anxious and my nose is clogged.

I really like dreams because we all get them and they are like trips to a unique place that we create. And they tell us a lot about who we really are. So when we talk about them it is like we are talking about ourself and other people at the same time. The best dreams are ones that are happy but kind of sad at the same time. And pretty.
Last night I dreamt that Serena Williams had a tv show where she played a hard-nosed but funny and really sweet underneath it all female detective in a big city who solved crimes committed by white men against young, slender and long-haired white women with two young children. In this episode, the car she was driving was forced off a cliff into the ocean by the suspect. Serena was terrified but she resourcefully escaped the car and began to swim to the surface but then a giant octopus or squid swam up to her and engulfed her head and dragged her away into the murky depths.

Your woman is "drowning" in your relationship. She wants strange cock and the "giant octopus" will take her away from your insecure self.

I just asked her and she said no you're crazy he is just trying to make you feel insecure.
I am going to post photos of what I am cooking tonight!
And complain about the length of the line at the grocery store! Why do I always shop on Sundays? Ugh. LOL

So, you dream about plagiarizing Superman comics?

Check out In Dreams Begin Responsibilities by Delmore Schwartz
You can find this in the anthlogy You've Got To Read This which is excellent -
but do yourself a favor and don't read the intro / foreword until after reading the story.

I kind of soar, regally, and do not fly faster than a speeding bullet.

Well shit. Do you think she'd admit that she's craving strange cock? Or is that what you fear because obviously you're craving strange black big titted pussy?
Better see a good shrink!

Do you set cabins on fire with beams from your eyes?

No, no. I put fires out with my copious super tears.
