yesterday i received notice that i am included in the class as a plaintiff in a class action lawsuit against the ncaa for failing to protect athletes from concussions and their long-term effects. it's a $70 million suit and includes athletes going back 50 years. i could use $70MM.

if the settlement is approved, then they do medical assessments for class members who qualify based on some screening. perhaps i will call you guys as witnesses to confirm i'm fucked up.

is anyone else here a potential member of this august class?

Don't get your hopes up. $69.9m of the settlement will be legal fees.

What sports are involved?

the postcard with small print doesn't say.

i played ice hockey.

who gets concussed?

football players, wrestlers, lacrosse players (even though shaf hates them). other sports, on occasion, i suppose, like gymnasts who fall off the rings or a baseball player who gets beaned.

rugby players, too, but their baseline is so low, it's difficult to see a decline in function.
