Actually happy I have no interest in sports anymore. I'm a life long baseball and boxing obsessive but I haven't missed any sports at all. I was a geared up for a Flyers hockey playoff run but now I couldn't care less. It's all so fake and gay.

And then I read this today and was howling with laughter. Everything in sports is a con. It's a long piece and is interesting but the NFL stuff near the end is incredible and the only real reason to read it.

Bookmarked for later, that's quite an article. Professional sports have been essentially a racket for a long, long time. Years ago when I got interested in grappling and researched the history of wrestling, that became clear to me. Essentially, professional sports are an adjunct to gambling.

And it depends what you mean by adjunct. The NFL and probsports have no legal duty to make the games depend on skill or to not cheat for various teams.

Though I am sure they collude with Vegas.
