Dropbox is da bomb. Runs perfectly on my Mac, windows, droid, ipad, and through browser.

I saw that list and it is hard to disagree with it. So many apps are now cross-platform and are becoming indispensable.
Of the list, I have around half installed somewhere and have used a few more than that. Dropbox, Maps, VLC and Gmail are apps that I would gladly pay for. I haven't heard of a few though need to check them out - most were related to mobile browsing, which I don't do a lot of.
For a Mac, I would add Adium and Notational Velocity. For PCs, probably Resolph Notes, Paint.NET and either WinAmp or Media Monkey to replace iTunes. For mobile devices, I would toss Kindle for XYZ into it.

Evernote, Gmail, Waze, Flipboard, Reeder to manage RSS on iOS.
I would add in Instapaper too, but I've been moist for that one for a while.
Pretty good list.

Neither are free though I like them both.

I realized that after I hit submit. I don't care. If someone only has $10 for apps, those are the two to spend it on.
