Cast Iron KBs vs. competition-sized bells

I'm looking for a 40kg bell. Since I won't use it for GS, I'm tempted to cheap out and get a "Cast Iron" one instead of the competition size. Can anyone with experience weigh in? (E.g. is the handle of the Cast Iron unmanageable thick?)

Thicker handles should be a nice plus.

I've got a 40kg DD bell, and the handle doesn't seem any thicker than the one on my 32kg. I only use it for swings, squats, and the occasional TGU, so the larger handle than a GS bell doesn't bother me. If I was doing long sets of snatches or LS with it I'm sure it would be better to have a smaller diameter handle.

That depends.I got 2 Eleiko cast iron 40kg,one has the handle thickness of a competition bell and the other is noticeble thicker (a lot thicker). The only difference between them is that I ordered them at different times. The difference in thickness doesn`t bother me at all.

The homoeroticism is thick in this thread.

Maybe you are searching to hard to find hints of homoeroticism?
