"Winning Bodybuilding"

Post by The Venerable Bogatir X »

Written by Franco Columbu in 1977, I purchased a used copy of this book for ten bucks during a recent Amazon.com shopping assault. I had a copy of this book as a teenager and along with "Education of a Bodybuilder" and a Casey Viator routine for teens that was published in M&F, that's how I trained for years--right up into my mid 20's, actually.

I just commented on how "Easy Strength" is on the wordy side on another thread. "Winning Bodybuilding" is about 150 pages of stripped down good shit. At ten bucks used, it's a good edition to your training library.

That's cool, to be honest I was not aware of this book. Will check it out.

What was the basic gist of Franco's training?

He was always my favorite bodybuilder.

Compound moves. High volume.

His background was OLY and PL, but the routines in the book were more so written for you or I, not him.

The sample meal day was very 'whole, fresh, raw', FWIW.
