Fair enough.  I just assumed based on the Ninja Scroll name-drop that some rather extreme violence was on the table.  I mean hell, one of the Eight Devils of Kimon straight up finger-blasts the poison chick in Ninja Scroll.  But whateves, I’d say for a much more crowd-pleasing experience, give Batman: Gotham Knight a go.  Same short-film style and with many of the same animation companies/directors.  Also, no hyper violence or finger-blasting.  Cheers for giving it a shot, tho.

Kid really went into a war-zone with a rifle thinking he wouldn’t catch that smoke?

I couldn’t recommend The Animatrix any higher.  Do yourself a favor.

Yeah, I put that first ep of Visions up there with the best of other great short-film Anime collections like The Animatrix and Batman: Gotham Knight.  As a pretty major Star Wars fan who has VERY high standards for animation (I came up on Ninja Scroll, Batman: The Animated Series and Cowboy Bebop) I was very let down by the rest of the offerings.

Dune has always been one of those massive blind-spots in my nerdism.  Never read the book.  Never watched the OG flicker.  I can say as someone who had little to no interest in this flick that, at the very least, it’s very watchable.  Great cast, score and visuals.  I’m looking forward to my second view.

Can we PLEASE stop pretending the we give a solitary fuck about the Afghans, or hell, even American soldiers while we’re at it? Aside from the remarkably few who served along side the Afghans, your opinion can slide it’s self along that fat vein on my taint. Calm it down.

I would be the most useless X-Man with my mutant ability to fall into a deep sleep practically at will.  Comes from having a clear conscious and toking on the dankest extracts the state of Oregon has to offer.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood: A Novel by Quentin Tarantino.  If you like the way the guy writes, it’s a fun read.  Not a fan?  Easy pass.

Here in lovely Oregon, it’s a mere $40 every eight years for basic ID.  If you can’t afford the twenty-buck-a-presidential-election tax, you can go fuck yourself forever.

I don’t fuck with smart phones.  Never cared for the things.  Facebook is my answering machine.  Those who need to get at me can do so at any time, but social media can eat my balls.

I’ve found that it naturally behooves me to be kind pretty much all the time. Almost always tends to work out in my favor. Be selfish, be kind.

I’ve always been more of a reefer man.  I fucks with extracts almost exclusively.  Some flower here & there when folks bring it over.

I’ve been pretty lazy about reading this. Only a few chapters in. So far, I’d say it’s quite a lot like the movie only with substantially more narration. Expands on the characters quite a bit and it all reads like the flick plays out with some slight differences here & there. It really all hinges on if you liked the characters enough to do a deeper dive on em.
